Building on the foundation of our values and vision to support the local community, CareCore National launched a national healthcare forum on Hilton Head Island, South Carolina three years ago. The event, called the Healthcare Summit, is an annual meeting that brings together some of the nation’s top experts and thought leaders in healthcare, government, and information technology. It provides an opportunity to address current healthcare marketplace trends and hold executive level discussions on current and future critical issues within the industry.
The Executive Team at CareCore National made the decision to hold the Healthcare Summit in the Lowcountry of South Carolina as part of our commitment to support the local community. The team decided to forgo the traditional trade show type events typically held in major cities and build an event that would support and showcase the unique area in which CareCore National headquarters is located.
Our keynote for this year’s summit is Mark McClellan, M.D., Ph.D., senior fellow and director of the Engelberg Center for Health Care Reform and the former administrator of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). Mark will be among fourteen distinguished presenters at the Healthcare Summit. Additionally, Mara Liasson, national political correspondent for National Public Radio and political contributor for FOX News Channel will share her insight into the political impact of healthcare reform. Attendees from major companies including UnitedHealthcare, Aetna, EMC Corporation, and Bank of America will participate in the summit. This year, we are especially looking forward to hearing from Tim Scott who now represents South Carolina’s 1st Congressional district in the United States House of Representatives.
Hosting the Healthcare Summit locally offers our customers from across the country an opportunity to visit the Lowcountry and get a taste of the good life! In addition to the business portion of the summit, CareCore National offers a number of excursions for visiting guests and presenters including hosting a Skybox Suite at the RBC Heritage golf tournament, sailing, kayaking, a day trip to historic Savannah, Georgia, and dinners at a local restaurants.
We encourage our guests to explore the natural beauty and distinct culture of this part of the country and to visit the area again whether it is for business or pleasure. It is important for us to give back to the community because we are a part of it. As business executives and as neighbors, the CareCore National team is part of this community. We live here. We want to grow and support the place we call home.
